Our commercial account is overseen by Michael, who is an experienced Senior Account Executive with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. I’m a sole trader and my time is precious. Does it take long to get a Marine Trade quote?
Apart from your personal contact details, we ask 5 questions about your business. It’s all information we’re sure you know off the top of your head. We’d be surprised if the whole thing takes more than 5 minutes and usually cover can be arranged the same day, leaving you to concentrate on your business.
What are the qualifying criteria?
For mobile marine tradesmen, the criteria is as follows:
- Be a mobile sole trader engaged in business activities related to the UK marine industry
- Have no employees
- Have no business premises and work from your home address
- Have an annual turnover equal to or less than £100,000
- Have no claims, incidents, convictions, bankruptcy, H&S proceedings etc. in the last 5 years
- Work on private pleasure craft up to 30 metres and commercial craft up to 24 metres in length
What if I don’t qualify? Or if my business grows and I start employing staff?
Don’t worry at all. We can help you with other products provided by a variety of Marine Trade insurers. If you’re a Marine Trade business in the UK, then we’re sure we can assist.
What might my premium be?
We’ve quoted a wide variety of businesses already and an average quote is in the range £450 to £1,000. However, we would be happy to provide you with a personalised quotation.
What does Comprehensive Cover include?
We can provide Public and Products Liability with a limit of indemnity of £3m or £5m, depending on your requirements.
Standard cover includes:
- Legal Liability cover for Damage to Third Party Vessels in Your care, custody or control
- Movement of Third Party owned Vessels
- Personal Liability whilst abroad on business
- Legal Liability incurred under the Data Protection Act
- Corporate Manslaughter
- Business Legal Expenses

- Damage cover on tools of trade anywhere in the UK — starting from £2,500 up to a maximum of £10,000
