The Year that was!

No one could have imagined the enormous change to our lives and the unprecedented struggles that so many people have suffered following the pandemic this year. Thankfully, all of our team here at Topsail have remained safe and well and we dearly hope that is true for you and your families too.

Like so many companies, we have been working from home since mid-March. Fortunately, our technology in respect of systems and telephones has meant no disruption at all to the service for our clients and as a result we have decided to permanently close our Brighton office with effect from 16th December 2020 and work from home full time.

Please make note of our new postal only address below should you need it. Rest assured however that should you require a ‘face to face’ meeting, we will be happy to accommodate this.

It's a pass!

Congratulations to our Account Executive, Samantha Fenn, who has joined the growing number of our team to gain a professional qualification in Insurance. We are pleased to say that Sam passed her FIT insurance exam in November.

It doesn’t stop there as all of the team staff continue into the new year with their professional development by way of the Chartered Insurance Institute. It’s good to know your insurance is in such qualified hands!

Senior Director Appointments

In May this year we welcomed Nigel Hawkes and Ric De Cristofano to the board of Directors. Nigel and Ric joined us from the Yacht Insurance Service Company of MS Amlin, also trading as Haven Knox-Johnston where they previously held Senior Management roles. Their combined experience totals well over 50 years in our industry and this, together with their expertise, will only help to drive our business forward and benefit our clients. They also join Chris McGowan and Robert Stevens as shareholders of the company.

We've been shopping!

You may have seen the exciting new in the Yachting press that we have just completed the purchase of established Yacht Insurance broker Y Yacht Insurance and Y Yacht Assurances France. This is our first acquisition and embodies our aspirations to gain a larger market share in the marine insurance sector, diversify our account and fundamentally, not lose sight of our core customer service values which have got us to where we are today.

 

We are really pleased to welcome two existing members of the Y Yacht team, Claire Froggatt and Helen Webster to Topsail, as this  will only help to complement our service to all of our clients.

Making it easy!

We have been working hard and continue to carry out a huge amount of development behind the scenes to make the customer journey a far better experience. In October this year we launched our ‘Quote and Buy’ facility that in many cases will allow you to obtain a quote, purchase the policy and receive your documents instantaneously.

Following on from this, the ability to renew your policy online will soon also be available. If the online system isn’t your style, you  can of course still contact us  directly and we will be more than happy to assist in any way we can.

A star in our midst!

Any TV quiz fans among you may well have seen our own Head of Operations Laura Clothier win the 17th episode of Winning Combination which aired on 08/12/2020 on ITV. We are very proud to have such a smart lady looking after our day to day operation here at Topsail!

Festive Opening Hours

We would like to wish all of our clients a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. Please note that the office will be closed from 1pm (GMT) on Thursday 24th December 2020 and will re-open at 9am (GMT) on Monday 4th January 2021.

Emails will be monitored periodically, however if your enquiry is urgent calls are being diverted to a mobile phone on the 29th, 30th and 31st December 2020, between 11am and 3pm (GMT). Please leave a message if we do not answer immediately and we will come back to you as soon as possible.
