Next month’s Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in Amsterdam is the world’s largest marine equipment trade show welcoming thousands of guests and exhibitors every year.
From 15 – 17 November some 22,000 professionals from 112 countries will come together to promote the marine industries and their latest innovations from across the world.
The event not only hosts the exhibitor pavilions, networking seminars, HISWA symposium and ICOMIA World Marinas conference but also brings together the InnovationLAB, industry briefings, presentations, the global superyacht forum, awards gala and the notorious DAME awards.
The DAME Design Award is the most prestigious international design competition for new marine equipment and accessories and is exclusively available only to METS exhibitors.
A recent British Marine article highlighted that 28% of nominees are designed and manufactured by British Marine members.
The nominations for the prestigious DAME Design Awards 2016 have been announced, with British design and innovation shining through as UK products account for 20 of the record 67 selected entries.
Out of the UK finalists, 19 of the entries come from British Marine member companies. This includes the latest innovations from Lumishore, Scanstrut, Garmin, Lewmar, CJR Propulsion, Henri Lloyd, Ocean LED Marine, Raymarine UK, Spinlock, Oceanair Marine, Vetus UK, Volvo Penta, Furuno (UK) and Harken UK.
We wish our fellow British Marine members all the best of luck at METS next week, for the full list of the DAME Design Award 2016 nominees, visit www.metstrade.com/mets/innovation/dame-nominees.
