We would of course like to congratulate the K8 Sport team who won the Topsail Insurance ‘Sportsboat of The Year award’. Of the K8, Yachts and Yachting said;
“Australian based company, Advanced Wing Systems, developed the K8 take full advantage of their Semi Rigid Wing (SRW), which uses patented technology to create a semi rigid aerofoil that can hoisted, reefed and stowed.
The initial design brief for the K8 was to create an exciting sports boat that is easy to sail with a small crew. The K8 has powerful lines to take advantage of the extra power of the wing. The wide chines provide narrow heeled waterlines and high stability allows the boat to be easily sailed with four crew.
The K8 has been designed with ease of sailing in mind to attract a wide range of sailors and is optimised to take full advantage of the wing sail to deliver, what the manufacturers claim is a fast yet highly stable race boat”
