British Marine Federation Networking Event

The event will focus on how to get funding and apprenticeships for your business.

BMF Kent & Sussex present a great opportunity to find out more about LEP funding for your business and the importance of getting involved with apprenticeships, whilst networking with BMF members and marine industry colleagues.

Guest speakers include:

Malcolm Brabon - Coast2Capital Local Enterprise Partnership

As the growth development manager, Malcolm is responsible for delivering strategies to increase business enterprise and international trade across the Coast to Capital area. Malcolm has worked with companies of all sizes from start-up firms to multinational organisations. Prior to joining Coast to Capital, Malcolm led his own consultancy, specialising in connecting UK and overseas business service providers with potential clients. He was also Partnership Manager for Business Link London based in Croydon. A keen advocate of entrepreneurship, Malcolm is also 'Start Up Britain Champion' for Croydon and a committee member of the South London Export Club.

Paul Dougal Harris - The Worshipful Company of Shipwrights

The origins of the Shipwrights’ Apprentice Scheme lie in the establishment of an apprenticeship expansion program by Berthon on the South Coast, on behalf of Government, to encourage apprenticeships. Berthon pioneered the methodologies that the Shipwrights scheme uses and which provide such amazing success statistics. Over 90% of apprentices under the Shipwrights and Berthon schemes graduate – this compares to a 70% success rate nationally.
